Hey guys! I wanted to see how you guys have handled ampoules. Just a few things that I've read:
I need a filter needle
Potential of glass getting into medicine
Use an ampoule breaker instead of breaking it with hand.

This is all medical advice from what I've seen. The gear world says not to worry about a filter or a breaker.

when you're popping ampoules best move is to use a filter needle keeps any tiny glass bits outta your shot. Snapping it open can sometimes drop shards in without you even seeing. Also using an amp breaker saves your fingers from getting sliced. Some dudes skip it but if you wanna keep it clean and safe don’t slack on the gear. Work smart not just hard.

Hey! Good on you for being careful
Medical folks use a filter needle to keep glass out of the liquid, they also use an ampoule breaker or wrap it to avoid cuts.
Some in the gear world skip it but tiny glass can cause issues better to play it safe!

Yeah bro, most skip the filter but using one to draw and switching needles is just safer glass is rare but why risk it? Amp snapper’s handy but tissue works if you’re careful...

Thanks for the replies! Seems consistent and the safer way to go. I like the safer part, especially with ugl gear. It's just one more safety measure to put in place. Appreciate the help!

Yeah man, it’s definitely a mixed bag. In the medical world, they always recommend a filter needle and amp snapper just to play it safe, avoid any glass getting in and all that. But in the gear world, most people just crack it by hand and draw up like normal. I personally use a filter needle just for peace of mind. Cheap and takes 2 extra seconds. Better safe than sorry, especially if you're pinning it.

Yeah bro, most of us in the gear world don’t stress too much about filters or amp breakers.
That said, using a filter needle can help avoid glass particles especially with sketchy amps.
Amp openers are cheap and save your fingers.
Better to play it smart if you’ve got the tools..

bro, real talk yeah, technically filter needle is smart to avoid glass bits, especially if you crack it wrong. I use a filter to draw, then switch to a normal pin to pin. Amp breaker helps too, but if you are careful and snap away from you with a paper towel, you are good. Just dont rush it. Gear worlds a bit loose, but better safe than sorry.
